Advanced Microscopy Facility arises from the need to centralize highly complex microscopy equipment to maximize usability, management, maintenance and growth potential. The instruments of this facility are enrolled in the National Microscopy System, network promoted by the CONICET and MinCyT. The creation of the Facility was achieved by the combination of two multi – institutional consortia (PME2006 and PAE- PME 2007 grants) coordinated by professors of the Faculty of Exact Sciences (UNLP) and including advanced microscopy equipment. The main instruments are a Leica SP5 confocal microscope and a laser dissection microscope Leica LDM6000. It also includes a cryotome (Thermo Shandon) and an inverted fluorescence microscope (Nikon Eclipse Ti)
